I absolutely love being able to photograph weddings using film cameras (both medium format and 35mm film). For further information see my Why I Shoot Film.

THE BINGHAM HOTEL: DESIGNER WEDDING SHOW

Last Tuesday I got a very nice surprise.

I found out I had won a pair of tickets to the Designer Wedding Show courtesy of the Bingham Hotel in Richmond Upon Thames.  Pretty awesome.

And the show was pretty awesome too.

So many sumptuous, gorgeous, decadent and stylish ideas for weddings all under one roof.

It was wonderful watching the catwalk show and seeing so many fantastic dresses on display.

Illusion necklines were out in force and they looked stunning. I would have loved to take a picture to illustrate the new trend but the photography police were well and truly out in force. But it's basically when a sheer, delicate and often embellished layer of fabric forms a veil over skin that would otherwise be exposed. Sometimes it is used to forms straps, sometimes it covers up an others exposed back or neckline and sometimes it's used to give the illusion of sleeves, just like Kate Middleton's gorgeous dress. It gives  a softer, more romantic and ultimately more elegant look. Just stunning.

I think my favourite designer was Temperley London but it is just so, so difficult to pick just one. Matthew Williamson and Sassi Holford had simply gorgeous collections too.
